Full-time four-wheel final drives

Summary
On all-wheel, or full-time four-wheel drive vehicles, drive is transmitted to the front and rear wheels at the same time.

In full-time four wheel drive vehicles, drive is transmitted through the rear final drive to the rear wheels, and through the front final drive to the front wheels at all times.

The final drive gears are normally a hypoid bevel crown wheel and pinion type.

The same gear ratio is used for both front and rear units.
