Summary
The thermal expansion valve controls the amount of refrigerant entering the evaporator coils. It also causes a drop in pressure without causing a change of state.
The thermal expansion valve, the TX valve, is constructed of cadmium plated steel or of aluminum.
Three types are commonly used: These are -
- Internally equalized
- Externally equalized, and
- H block.
