Velocity

Summary
Velocity is the measurement of distance traveled over a period of time.
Speedometer

Velocity is the measurement of distance traveled over a period of time. The metric system uses meters/second (m/s) and kilometers/hour (km/h). The Imperial system uses miles/hour (mph) and knots (kn). Velocity is used when checking speedometers, determining vehicle acceleration performance, and determining fuel consumption.

Velocity conversions
1 kn = 1.15 mph 1 m/s = 3.6 km/h
1 mph = 0.87 kn 1 km/h = 0.27 m/s
1 mph = 1.6 km/h 1 km/h = 0.62 mph
1 kn = 1.85 km/h 1 km/h = 0.55 kn
