Power is the ability to do work.
Power

Power is the ability to do work. The metric system uses Watts (W), kilowatts (kW) or Pferdesträrke (PS or metric horsepower). The Imperial system uses Horsepower (hp). Power measures an engine’s size and performance.

Power conversions
1 hp = 0.745 kW 1 kW = 1000 W
1 hp = 1.01 PS 1 kW = 1.36 PS
  1 kW = 1.34 hp
  1 PS = 0.98 hp
